This is not my design. But when I tried this earlier it didn`t work. So I am trying again.. lets see...

Yes it works now.. but i had to change from non-repeat to repeat.

I have learned something new today. In the url for the picture. Just avter where it says 1600. remove the -h This fixes the problem!

Tesing background design again

I want the pattern in the background to crawl onto the posting block.. but I don`t know how to do this, so now i am testing out some new techniques..

So i finally found out. That i would have to use a white field in the middle of the page. Than make shadows on the brushes. ( Dark brushes in its own layer ) .
The white field has to be wider than the blogpage. My blogpage is 900 pixels wide.
Here my background is 1300 pixels wide. Fixed.
I have quite a wide screen on my computer. Most people have now. But I can see on the other two computers we have here, that has "shorter"screens, that the background dissapears completely. But if I make it narrower, it will leave an empty space on wide screens.

So i decided to colour the blogpostingbackground white. So if you are viewing this on a narrow screen, you will only see white background. Better than the pattern interfeering with the text.

I made the dark brush strokes with a pattern brush ( photoshop, but same can be used in Gimp ) than a drop down shadow and a gradient overlay. Smooth transparent and pink.

Gimp Brushes

I am getting more and more used to Gimp now. Must say that Photoshop is easier for me. But Gimp is not bad.
I have downloaded some brushes from Hawksmont Universe that I have used in my headings and backgrounds. Here is a little sample of some of them.I cant wait to try out some of the hearts as well. Thanks!!

No, too crazy.. The creme colour was annoing after a while. Going to test the one you see on the top.

Testing Gimp for blogdesign

Have downloaded som new brushes and stuff. Trying out how it works...

Found out that i needed to colour the background of the posts. Making it transparent just clutters up the total image, since the post and header is rolling together. If there was a way to make the posts go under the header.. hmm.

But it seems a bit to much right now.. but my head is spinning here... so goodnight!!

Prøver å lage en julebakgrunn, bare for gøy.. tester med størrelse som burde gå. Får se...

Oj.. nå fant jeg jo en enkel måte å finne fram i HTML kodene først og fremst. Man kan bli ganske blank i øynene av å lete i teksten.. Ctrl+F så kan man søke på ordet eller teksten en leter etter. Fantastisk, skjønner ikke at jeg ikke har tenkt på dette.
I Excel på jobb bruker jeg det hele tiden.

I denne linken finner du oppskriften til å lage buttons oppe under headingen. Kjekt..

Det eneste som ikke kommer fram så tydelig i teksten synes jeg var følgende.

1. legg inn koden i html koden som vist i linken.
2. så går du til der du lager sideelementer "gadgets", velg den som er for html/java koder.
Lim inn teksten som er beskrevet i linken og rediger adressene som du ønsker.
3. Dra sideelementet fra siden og opp under heading-boksen.
4. Se hvordan det ser ut, før du går tilbake i htmlkodene for å forandre farger.
